Kriminal Minds - Resistance Against
Wenn eine Hard-Electro-Legende wie Racso Agroyam (Sound-Wizard von Hocico) eine Band unter seine Fittiche nimmt, dann kann man sicher sein, dass diese etwas Besonderes sein muss. Die mexikanische Band Kriminal Minds lässt sämtliche „evil“-Hellectro-Klischees einfach links liegen und zelebriert ihre Musik als unkontrollierten akustischen Wutausbruch gegen Unterdrückung, das System und die kaputte Welt, in der wir leben. Mit ultra-brutalen Shouts, vielschichtigen Arrangements und einer musikalischen Bandbreite von Club-tauglichen Beats bis hin zu kompromisslos lärmenden Industrial-Attacken ist „Resistance Against…“ ein musikalisches Pamphlet, das nicht nur den heimischen Fußboden zum Beben bringen wird. Natürlich hört man oft die produktionstechnische Hand von Racso Agroyam durch, aber Kriminal Minds verfügen über so viele eigene Ideen und aggressiven Ungestüm, dass sie immer weitaus mehr sind, als nur der „kleine Bruder“ von Hocico. In einer Zeit, in der eigentlich fast alle härteren Electro-Bands nur noch gleich klingen, sind Kriminal Minds erfrischend vielseitig, ehrlich und von aufrichtiger Brutalität. Tanz den Widerstand!

When a Hard Electro legend such as Racso Agroyam (sound wizard of Hocico) takes a band under his wings you can be sure that it must be a rather special act, indeed. The Mexican group Kriminal Minds ignores all “evil”-Hellectro-clichés and chooses to celebrate music as an uncontrollable outcry of rage against oppression, the system and the dismal world we live in, instead. With ultra-brutal shouts, versatile arrangements and a musical bandwidth spanning from Club-compatible beats to all-out noisy Industrial onslaughts, “Resistance Against…” is a sonic pamphlet that will shake up more than your home’s floor boards. Of course, Racso Agroyam’s production is omnipresent but Kriminal Minds have so many interesting ideas of their own and are so full of irresistible rage that their music is so much more than a mere “little brother of Hocico.” In times, where almost all hard Electro bands tend to sound the same, Kriminal Minds are refreshingly versatile, candid and sport an honest brutality! Reflexion - Edge
Auf Album Nummer drei lassen die finnischen Dark-Alternative-Metaller Reflexion es gehörig krachen! Mit wummernden Tribal-Toms und satten, tiefer gelegten Gitarrenriffs verpassen die smarten Nordmänner ihren düster-melodischen Hit-Songs einen rauen und erfrischenden Kick, der sich wohltuend vom überproduzierten Schwulst der meisten ihrer Landsleute abhebt. Reflexion zeigen Zähne, garnieren selbst langsame Songs mit Black-Sabbath-esken Doom-Riffs und wagen sich an vielschichtigere Songstrukturen, die auch gerne die Grenze zum Prog-metallischen streifen dürfen, verlieren dabei aber nie die einprägsamen, stets leicht schwermütigen Melodien aus den Augen, die schon ihre beiden ersten Alben so unwiderstehlich gemacht haben. So strotzt „Edge“ vor dunkler Atmosphäre und Hit-Qualitäten, dürfte aber auch bei so manchem gestandenen Mattenschwinger durch den deutlich nach oben geschraubten Härtegrad für einen gehörigen Nackenmuskelkater sorgen.

With album number three, Finnish Dark-Alternative-Metal band Reflexion is delivering quite a smasher! Thudding tribal drums and massive, deep guitar riffs infuse the band’s dark melodic hit tunes with a refreshing kick that pleasantly distinguishes itself from the over produced kitsch that most of their fellow countrymen are sporting. This time around Reflexion are playing it rough, spiffing up even their slow songs with Sabbath-esque doom riffs and toying with complex song structures that often border on Prog Metal, but without ever losing track of the catchy, often gloomy melodies that have made their first two albums nearly impossible to resist. “Edge” is revelling in dark atmosphere and hit qualities but will probably cause some serious head banging attacks with Metal veterans as well, due to a much harder approach.

Suicide Commando - Implements Of Hell
